Apple has announced many new features for the iPhone, iPad and Mac in recent years. In 2024, the company presented Apple Intelligence, a new technology that works with artificial intelligence. Apple Intelligence brings big changes to the iPhone, iPad and Mac. Texts are checked and improved with the new Writing Assistant, images can be generated in Image Playground and you can create your own emoji with Genmoji.

Most functions that work with Apple Intelligence are now available in the Netherlands and Belgium. That doesn’t include one new feature from Apple, which has been delayed for more than a year. Siri 2.0, the new generation of voice assistant, is still not available. The new version of Siri should be much smarter, but Apple is having major problems developing Siri 2.0.

Delay gives advantage

Big changes are coming to Siri with Apple Intelligence. The voice assistant is being expanded with more language models, making Siri 2.0 much smarter and communicating more naturally. That’s not all, because the voice assistant will soon be able to perform multiple commands in succession. Apple announced these new features for Siri back in 2024, but they’re still not available on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Siri 2.0 has been delayed for more than a year, but that actually means good news for many users. Apple Intelligence is only available on the company’s latest devices. For example, you need an iPhone 15 Pro (Max) or newer to use Apple Intelligence. The later Apple releases the next generation of Siri, the more devices will work with the new feature. So there is an increasing chance that you have a new iPhone, iPad or Mac that supports Apple Intelligence.

When Apple Intelligence was announced, only two iPhones had support for the new features. There are now eleven iPhones that work with Apple Intelligence, giving many more users access to the new generation of Siri. In that way, it’s good news that Siri 2.0 has been delayed by more than a year, because the new version of the voice assistant works on many more devices.
