According to the Power on-newsletter From Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to pay a lot of attention to improvements in the field of video recordings for the new iPhone 17 Pro models. So far, the company has mainly focused on photography, but for the next iPhone series it is the turn of video.
Apple wants the iPhone to replace your camera and has been trying to develop the best mobile camera system for some time. iPhones have always been pretty good in video, but Apple now wants to go one step further.
Focused on vloggers and filmers
Gurman reports that one of Apple’s goals for the iPhone 2025 line, including iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, is to attract vloggers and other content makers:

The report does not provide any further details about how Apple intends to upgrade the video possibilities of the iPhone 17 Pro, but hopefully we will learn more in the near future.
Camera Island iPhone 17 Pro (Max)
One of the other radical changes to the camera of the iPhone 17 that we already know is the ‘camera island’. For the iPhone 16, Apple stepped off the square camera island for a slimmer approach, but the camera island was preserved for the pro models. A few things will change for the iPhone 17 generation.
