According to previous rumors, the Dynamic Island was going to change with the iPhone 17. It seems that this change will not happen after all.
This change will not come to the iPhone 17 after all
Usually reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said on social media that he expects the Dynamic Island to remain virtually the same on the iPhone 17. That is striking, because there have been many rumors lately that Apple was going to change the Dynamic Island.

Analyst Jeff Pu has said a number of times that Apple was going to incorporate some kind of ‘metallic’ for Face ID in the iPhone 17 Pro models. This would make for a much smaller Dynamic Island. But according to Ming-Chi Kuo, this isn’t going to happen.
The Dynamic Island has been on the iPhone for a few years now. The feature was previously only found on the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. But came to all models with the iPhone 15 series.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, not much will change about the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 models. But of course there are a few other changes coming. There will be a thin ‘iPhone 17 Air’ and the iPhone 17 Pro models will have new, horizontally placed cameras.

This is the Dynamic Island
The Dynamic Island replaced the notch (notch) in the screen that you may remember from older iPhone models and the iPhone SE. The Dynamic Island (which actually consists of two parts) can even change size when information is displayed. It is therefore no longer noticeable that there is a camera in the screen at that location.

Depending on what you do with your iPhone, all kinds of messages will appear in the Dynamic Island. For example, you can see that your iPhone is connected to your AirPods, or what music you are currently listening to. You can also find things like a timer, an AirDrop connection and directions from Maps in the Dynamic Island.
