This costs the new Toyota Yaris

It is now almost half a year ago that Toyota introduced the brand new fourth generation of the Yaris. Now it is also known what amounts Toyota wants to receive for its new potential success number.

Toyota opens the order books of the new Yaris today. As before, Toyota’s competitor to cars like the Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta is available with a hybrid powertrain, although regular petrol versions are also on the order list.

The starting price of the new Yaris is set at € 17,895. For that amount you will receive the keys from a Yaris with the 72 hp 1.0 VVT-i three-cylinder known from the Aygo under the hood. Switching is done with a manual gearbox. The starting price applies to the Comfort version, a variant that comes standard with items such as air conditioning, electrically operated windows in the front and LED lighting in the rear. In terms of safety, this entry-level version already benefits from Toyota Safety Sense, a comprehensive suite of safety systems that includes adaptive cruise control and Lane Trace Assist. As an Active, the Yaris with base engine costs € 19,495.

Twice 1.5: Hybrid and non-Hybrid

The engine version that Toyota probably puts away the most copies in Europe is the 1.5 Hybrid. The Yaris 1.5 Hybrid has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder under the hood that runs according to the Atkinson principle. Of course, the petrol engine is assisted by an electric motor, a unit that brings the system power to 116 hp. The Yaris 1.5 Hybrid has a starting price of € 21,195. This concerns the Comfort version. For the Active, Toyota wants to see at least € 22,795 added to its account. The Style and Executive costs € 26,095 and € 27,595 respectively.

Those who find the 1.0 too muscular but do not want to park a hybrid in front of the door can opt for a 121 hp 1.5. The starting price of the Yaris 1.5, which, like the 1.0, is equipped with a manual gearbox, is temporarily at € 19,995 (Active). The Style goes over the counter with this power source from € 23,295.

Introduction versions

Just like the 1.5 Hybrid, Toyota also supplies the Yaris 1.5 VVT-i as a First Edition. This introduction version has full LED lighting on both the front and rear as standard, complete with dynamic turn signals. The First Edition is on 16-inch alloy and in the interior you will find a 7-inch digital instrumentarium and the extensive multimedia system, a system that can handle both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Also standard: Smart Entry, airco (automatic airco on the Hybrid) and electric rear windows. The 1.5 VVT-i costs as First Edition € 21,395, the 1.5 Hybrid € 24,195.

In addition to the First Edition, Toyota has a second, temporarily available introductory version: the Launch Edition. This version is based on the Executive level and standard features such as automatic air conditioning, LED mood lighting and sports seats with semi-leather upholstery. The safety systems package is expanded with Blind Spot Monitor and Lane Change Assist. More indulgence comes in the form of a 10.2-inch head-up display. From the outside, the Launch Edition can be recognized by its 17-inch alloy wheels and the two-color body. The Coral Red painted coach contrasts with a black roof. The Launch Edition is available as a 1.5 Hybrid and is available from € 28,095

The new Yaris will be at the Dutch dealers this summer. You can order immediately.
