Apple has given its Podcasts app a makeover. Thanks to different categories, it should be easier to find podcasts that suit you. So you can keep listening effortlessly.
Apple Podcasts app update makes searching easier
Apple’s own Podcasts app gets several improvements in iOS 13, but the app is already getting some useful new features before this update is out. The home screen of the app now looks a lot clearer thanks to categories.
Broadly speaking, three types of categories have been added: the most popular shows, new shows and subcategories. For example, if you tap the fiction category, you can quickly filter on multiple subcategories such as drama or romance. But if you click through, you’ll also get podcasts suggested under the name “long-running shows” or “more to discover.”
In addition, several categories have been renamed to better describe the types of podcasts they fall under. You can choose from the app for comedy, sports, technology, health and fitness, news and education.

These new parts should make it easier on the one hand to find a podcast that appeals to you, but on the other hand to browse faster, by filtering through the categories on topics that you find interesting to listen to.
The update is rolling out to all users right away and doesn’t just apply to the Podcasts app. You will also see this new look in iTunes when you go to the Podcasts tab.
