This is how expensive the ‘cheaper’ Apple Vision Pro will be (in 2027)

Apple brings almost the Vision Pro 2, but the most important complaints (weight and price) are only tackled with the ‘Vision Air’ in 2027.

A cheaper Vision Pro

Apple will probably release a new version of the Vision Pro this year. In addition, there have been rumors about a cheaper Vision Pro for some time, but it will probably only come in 2027. The latter addition comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He calls the cheaper version of the Vision Pro the ‘Vision Air’. According to him, the device is more than 40 percent lighter than the current model, which weighs around 620 grams. A version that is 40 percent lighter should therefore weigh around 450 grams.

According to earlier rumors about the Vision Air, the device that appears in 2027 will have a frame of titanium. This would do Apple to reduce the weight. Apple would also work on a thinner design and on a lighter battery housing.

The Vision Air will be that expensive in 2027

KUO also says that in 2027 the Vision Air will be more than 50 percent cheaper than the current Vision Pro. The latter is not available in the Netherlands, but if you were to buy it in Germany, for example, you pay Via Apple Currently 3999 euros. If you remove more than 50 percent, you are at least below 1950 euros. Maybe it will be less.

That is still considerably more expensive than, for example, the Meta Quest 3 of around 550 euros. At the same time, it is of course much more acceptable than 3999 euros. But the big question is how Apple can considerably lower the costs. We expect fewer cameras, screens with a lower resolution and the disappearance of Eyesight. But it is difficult to estimate how much Apple can save on the Vision Air and still offer a Vision Pro-like experience in 2027. Time will learn it.
