This is how you adjust the volume of your alarm clock on your phone

The intention is of course that you wake up from your alarm clock, but you do not want the alarm to be too loud. To prevent a heart attack in the morning, you can adjust your alarm clock volume. In this article we explain how to do that on an iPhone and Android phone.

On an iPhone

go on you iPhone to the Settingsapp and scroll to the option Hear and feel† below Ringtone and notifications you will find the option to decrease the volume. Simply drag the slider to the left to mute notifications, including your alarm.

You will hear a sound as you drag, so you know exactly how the volume changes.

Alternatively, you can also select the Change with buttons to turn on. The sound of notifications and phone calls will then match the overall volume level of your iPhone.

By using the volume buttons on your phone, you also adjust the volume of your alarm. This option will not be for everyone.

If you often listen to music in the evening, don’t forget to lower the volume after your listening session. Otherwise, your alarm will still go off loudly.

Under Ringtone and notifications, you can adjust the volume of your iPhone alarm clock.

On an Android device

On Android phones, it’s a little more complicated, as the location of the alarm options varies by brand. Manufacturers love to customize Android with their own software shell, so sometimes you have to do some research.

If we take Samsung as an example, you will find the option for the alarm volume in the Clockapp. Go to Alarmtap the time and then tap Alarm sound† At the bottom of the screen you can now adjust the volume, as well as which music should be played.

If you cannot find the option on your Android device in your Clock app, take a look at the Settings app under Sound.

Alternatives

If you are not completely satisfied with the standard alarm clock on your iPhone or Android device, you can of course also try another alarm clock app. For example, the Alarmy app doesn’t focus so much on the volume of your alarm, but rather on other ways to get you out of bed as quickly and efficiently as possible. The alarm will only go off after making a calculation and photographing an object that is far from your bed.
