Google recently released the Google Nest Audio. This is a smart speaker with better sound (compared to the company’s previous Home and Nest speakers), which features the Google Assistant. If you get two Nest Audios, you can also make a stereo pair with them, for better music reproduction.
Fortunately, it is not very difficult to link two Google Nest Audio speakers together. Please note: because this is a different process than when you include two Google Assistant speakers in a multiroom speaker setup, for example. If you want to and therefore want to listen to the same music in different rooms in the house, we recommend that you read this article.
Making a stereo pair is another matter. This ensures that the stereo sound is sent over two speakers – instead of the same stereo sound twice over two different speakers (or more, of course, depending on how many speakers you include in your network). Step one is to put the speakers close together. For example on your desk next to your screen or on the cupboard in the living room or bedroom. Have you already done that? Then we can go to the app.
Pair Google Nest Audio speakers
We assume that you have already installed the speakers. So we’ll skip the initial setup for now and go straight to the necessary steps for pairing the Google Nest Audio speakers. Open the Google Home app on your Android, iPhone or iPad and select the first speaker you want to include in your stereo pair. Tap the gear at the top right and then scroll down until you see the option for pairing speakers.
You now follow the steps on the screen. Shortly after, you will be asked to select a second speaker for your stereo pair. Select the speaker and press the button to go to the next page. The LED lamp on the speaker flashes briefly to indicate whether this is the left or right speaker, so useful to know. You can also choose to play a short audio cue to find out. You can then adjust in the same app whether you want a specific speaker to be on the left or right.
Now it is important, as always, to select the room where both speakers are located. This way you can turn on both speakers with one voice command, if necessary. All you need now is a catchy name (or at least one that can be easily understood by the Google Assistant) and your Google Nest Audio stereo pair is ready to go.
