After installing watchOS 3, your Apple Watch is more social than ever. This way you can share the three colored Activity Rings with your friends. As a result, enough exercise suddenly becomes a competitive element.
Apple Watch Share activity with contacts
Apple makes the red, green, and blue activity rings a lot more fun from watchOS 3. By inviting a friend, you can real time share with each other. By sharing your Activity with someone once, you will immediately be listed in his or her overview. Keep this in mind, in case you don’t want someone to be able to see how much you’ve moved all the time.
To enable Apple Watch Activity Sharing, your iPhone must be running iOS 10 or higher and the Apple Watch must have at least watchOS 3. Once your two iDevices comply, you can share your activity by following the steps below.
- Open the Activity app on your iPhone;
- Go to the ‘Share’ tab (bottom right of the screen);
- Tap the red plus sign at the top right of the screen;
- The app suggests new contacts to add;
- Select the people you want to invite and send the invitation,
After completing the above steps, it will be a while before the other person accepts it. Then you will see the three rings of the other automatically appear in the Share overview. Tap the other person’s name for a more detailed overview. Here you can also see how many workouts have been done and which Achievements have already been unlocked. For extra motivation, you can tap the speech bubble in the Share tab to send a message to the other person.
