This is how you transfer your Facebook data to other services

Facebook offers the option to transfer a copy of your data to another service. You can now transfer even more data to no fewer than nine platforms.

Facebook has long offered the option to download your data. Through this page you can make a copy of your saved items, chat messages, reviews, and comments or reactions, among other things. Choose a period for which you want to download the data and click on Create file. An HTML or JSON file will then be saved to your computer. on this page you get an overview of your recent data.

It is also possible to transfer a copy of your data to another service, for example to WordPress, Dropbox, Google Photos, Google Docs, or Blogger. Recently you can also transfer upcoming events to Google Calendar. If you have indicated on Facebook that you are going to a certain event, you will immediately see this in your agenda. Very handy!

That’s how you do that

Go to this page and choose the service you want to transfer your data to. Then click Next step. Depending on your choice, you can select exactly what you want to make a copy of. For example, for WordPress this could be all your posts or certain notes, for Google Photos all your photos or certain photo albums.

Via this page you can easily transfer your data to another service.

Suppose you want to copy photos to Google Photos. For example, choose All your photos and then Next step. Press Pair and start transfer, after which you need to sign in to your Google account. Give Facebook permission to transfer your data and tap Get on. You will then see that Facebook is busy transferring the data. This may take a few minutes. You can just close the page: the photos will be transferred in the background and you will be notified via Facebook when the transfer is complete.

Photo albums transferred by Facebook will appear as ‘Copy of’.

In recent weeks, Facebook has significantly improved the transfer tool. This way you can transfer your data to more and more services, but you can now also see the status of each transfer during the transfer and it has become possible to transfer data to multiple services at once.
