The iPhone 16 was according to the website Counterpoint the best-selling smartphone of 2025. This will be followed by the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Max takes fourth place. That is striking, because it was only available in stores in September. In just a few months, this device quickly managed to reach the top four.
Samsung only participates from fifth place with the Galaxy A16 5G, followed by the Galaxy A06 4G. This top 10 shows that Android sales mainly come from budget devices and not from the premium corner. However, Samsung’s more luxurious models can also be found in the list, as the Galaxy S25 Ultra is in ninth place.

The iPhone 16e also appears at the bottom, the affordable variant of the iPhone. Together, these smartphones will account for 19 percent of all smartphone sales in 2025.
What is particularly striking about this list is that the top 10 has hardly changed since 2024. The newest device often takes a place from the model of the previous year, but much remains the same.
