Volkswagen Golf

The facelifted Volkswagen Golf arrived in the Netherlands at the beginning of this year with a new nose and a new price list. The prices of the updated Volkswagen Golf are known: it is available from just under 35 grand.

The Volkswagen Golf received a sharpened snout and a refreshed interior in January this year. Not only that, Volkswagen’s success was also given a handful of new powertrains. The 1.0 three-cylinder engines make way for 1.5 four-cylinder engines and the plug-in hybrid engine versions treat their owners to a significantly higher range. Curious about what the new Volkswagen Golf costs? We can tell you that now. It is available from €34,990.

For just under 35 grand you can get into a Volkswagen Golf with a 116 hp 1.5 TSI, a machine that is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox for that amount. The starting price applies to the basic version simply called ‘Golf’. The Volkswagen Golf is also available as a Life Edition with this engine and transmission and costs €36,990 in that form. Would you prefer an automatic? Of course that’s also possible. From €37,490, Volkswagen puts the keys in your hands to a Golf in basic trim with a mild-hybrid version of the 116 hp 1.5. In that case, switching is done with a DSG7 transmission. This engine and gearbox combination can also be combined with the Life Edition version. Volkswagen also supplies a 150 hp mild-hybrid 1.5 eTSI in the Golf. For the time being, it is only available as a Life Edition and in that capacity costs €41,490.

The updated Volkswagen Golf is also available with two thoroughly updated plug-in hybrid powertrains. As far as versions are concerned, there isn’t much to choose from yet. The Volkswagen Golf with a 204 hp 1.5 eHybrid drivetrain is being introduced as an eHybrid 50 Edition. It costs €44,490. The Volkswagen Golf GTE with 272 hp 1.5 eHybrid hardware costs €49,990. With both plug-in hybrid powertrains, the Golf should be able to drive approximately 125 electric kilometers without recharging. Here you can read almost everything about the new Volkswagen Golf.

The prices mentioned are all for the Volkswagen Golf as a five-door hatchback. The prices of the Volkswagen Golf Variant will follow later. Engine versions are also being added to the price list, such as the sportier GTI and the R.

Equipment

In basic trim, the Volkswagen Golf has Digital Cockpit Pro, the Ready to Discover multimedia system, automatic air conditioning, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and Lane Assist. The Life Edition adds 17-inch alloys, comfort seats, an inductive charger for smartphones, Keyless Access, dark tinted rear windows, a reversing camera, mood lighting and an alarm system. The temporarily available eHybrid 50 Edition includes 18-inch alloy wheels, extensive LED lighting including continuous LED bar in the front, an illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front, special interior trim, the Navigation Discover Media multimedia system, three-zone climate control, more extensive mood lighting and a whole bunch of 50 badges to the Golf.
