This is what the new Suzuki Swift costs – competitive pricing!

You will pay at least €21,695 for the brand new Suzuki Swift. This makes it only €200 more expensive in the basic Comfort version than its similarly equipped predecessor. The new Swift always has an 83 hp and 112 Nm strong mild-hybrid (12v) 1.2 three-cylinder petrol engine as its power plant. Yet there is plenty to choose from when it comes to powertrains. For example, from the Select version it can be ordered not only with a five-speed manual transmission, but also with a CVT. Suzuki also supplies the Swift from this equipment level with AllGrip four-wheel drive, although you will have to rely on the manual gearbox.

Standard far from bare

Nowadays, at least on paper, the starting price of the new Suzuki Swift can be described as quite friendly. The basic Comfort version already offers Smart Entry (keyless), a multimedia system with a 9-inch display, air conditioning, electrically operated windows front and rear, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, navigation, heated exterior mirrors, LED lighting all around and Suzuki Safety System Pro . The latter includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, active lane assistant, traffic sign recognition and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The Select, positioned above the Comfort, adds 16-inch alloys, a more extensive audio system, a leather-covered steering wheel with chrome accents, privacy glass, nicer upholstery on the seats, a more extensively adjustable driver’s seat and USB connections. The top Style version goes one step further. To the above, it adds 16-inch polished alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, electrically folding side mirrors and more silver-colored accents in the interior.

From the basic version onwards, the Suzuki Swift is quite well equipped. Until a possible Swift Sport appears, the new Swift will of course not be a stripper. The 1.2 with manual gearbox helps the Japanese reach 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and a top speed of 165 km/h. Although the manufacturer has not yet given away the average consumption, we know that the Swift 1.2 with manual transmission emits an average of 98 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Definitely not a drinking boat.

Favorable pricing

If we look at its competitors, we mainly see higher prices. For example, the Volkswagen Polo is available from €26,990. For that money you get an 80 hp 1.0 MPI without mild-hybrid support. The Peugeot 208 is available with a 75 hp and non-mild hybrid petrol engine in basic trim from €24,750, a similarly motorized Opel Corsa from €24,149. The Hyundai i20, with its starting price of €23,995 for an i-Motion i20 with 84 hp and also non-mild hybrid 1.2, is also more expensive than the Swift. Striking: the new Suzuki Swift in the Select and Style versions are several hundred euros cheaper than similarly designed versions of the outgoing generation Swift
