Smartphones are regularly stolen in cities like London. The thieves grab the device from your hands and immediately run away. You then have to come from a good background to get your device back.

But something striking happened recently in London. The thief simply returned the stolen device. But why? That was because it was not an iPhone. According to a report from the London Centric Thieves are not interested in Android devices from Samsung, among others.

The fact that Android devices are apparently less attractive (for thieves) means that as an iPhone owner you have to be extra careful. And it’s not just London that is struggling with these types of ‘grabbing thieves’. The snatching of smartphones in this way is also becoming an increasing problem in other major cities.

You can keep the iPhone in your pocket, but even then you have to be careful. It may sound crazy, but why wouldn’t you rather buy a cheap Android device to be a lot safer at times like that. In addition, it is always smart to have a second device as a kind of backup.

And of course: the cheaper the Android device, the less chance you have of your smartphone being stolen. And of course you don’t want to spend too much on a device that you will hardly use. Then one of Samsung’s cheaper Android devices is the A16.

The Samsung Galaxy A16 was released on October 1, 2024. The budget device is the successor to the Galaxy A15 and has a recommended retail price of 229 euros. But the device has now become a lot cheaper. The Samsung Galaxy A16 has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. It also has a 6.7-inch OLED screen and a 50 MP camera.
