In iOS 26 is a new function that will make it easier to connect to WiFi on your iPhone (and iPad). This is how it works!
This new iPhone function makes connecting with WiFi much easier
With the arrival of iOS 26, Apple is introducing a handy new function for anyone who regularly uses public WiFi. From now on your iPhone will automatically synchronize the registration data for a WiFi with a login page (Captive -WiFi) between all your devices. That means a lot less hassle to set all your devices.

Captive -Wifi is widely used in hotels, cafés, airports, gyms and more. Do you want to use the wireless internet there? Then you have to log in to any device (for example your iPhone and iPad) and fill in the form. This new WiFi function for your iPhone will therefore put an end to that.
Max Weinbach on X (former Twitter) discovered that both iOS 26 and iPados 26 now automatically synchronize the login data between all your Apple devices connected to the same Apple -ID. So are you connected to the WiFi (with a login page) of your hotel on your holiday address with your iPad? Then you no longer have to set that on your iPhone. Nice and easy, right?
As soon as your iPhone then tries to connect to WiFi, the new function automatically gives a proposal to log in with this data. And that without having to go all the steps again. According to the message it works on an iPhone and iPad, but it will probably also function on the Mac with macOS 26 (Tahoe).

New function is available in iOS 26
The function is currently only available in the Developer Beta of iOS 26. Usually reliable Apple connoisseur Mark Gurman (Van Bloomberg) said earlier that the function will only become available somewhere later this year.
The real release of iOS 26 will be in September of 2025, when Apple will also release the new iPhones. For that, a public beta will first become available from iOS 26 that can be installed by everyone.
