It looks like 2022 is going to be an exciting year for the Apple Watch. According to the latest rumors, there will not only be an Apple Watch Series 8, but there will also be an update for the Apple Watch SE and a special Watch for fanatic athletes with a more robust design.
Three new Apple Watch in 2022
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg next year there will not only be an Apple Watch Series 8. He also says in his most recent newsletter that an updated version of the Apple Watch SE will also appear. However, it doesn’t stop there, because Gurman also says that there will be a Watch with a more robust design. This Watch is mainly aimed at avid athletes.
Apple Watch SE 2022
The previous Apple Watch SE appeared in 2020. The SE is an interesting option for anyone who wants a recent Apple Watch with an affordable price. The current Apple Watch SE has the appearance of the Apple Watch Series 6, but does not have all the functions such as an always-on screen or a oximeter.
Often a new version of the SE series appears after a few years. Since no new version of the Apple Watch SE has appeared this year, it is obvious that a new one will be released in 2022. Gurman didn’t say what to expect from the new SE. However, it is quite possible that the new Watch will receive an updated design and more functions, which are more in line with the high-end models.
Apple Watch Series 8 Rumors
What Apple has planned for the Watch Series 8 (other than measuring blood sugar) remains a mystery. Perhaps the new Watch will get a revised design, because the Apple Watch Series 8 is rumored to come in an extra large size.
Rugged Apple Watch for athletes
Before the Apple Watch Series 7 was announced, there were several rumors online that a completely new design was coming. The appearance of the Watch would be more in line with the iPhone 13. Nothing could be further from the truth and the Apple Watch Series 7 had almost the same appearance as the Apple Watch Series 6. Now it may just be that these rumors are about the Apple Watch with had a more robust design. Time will tell.
