Three times thick: Toyota Yaris Cross

More Toyota news that the Dutch borders will never be crossed. In Japan, Toyota has presented three fierce-looking variations on the Yaris Cross theme.

In April this year, Toyota presented the Yaris Cross, a compact crossover with which the brand competes with the Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008 and Volkswagen T-Cross, among others. In the Netherlands, that high-legged newcomer will in any case be marketed as a 1.5 Hybrid, a motorization that will undoubtedly be combined with various equipment levels. In Japan, the Yaris Cross is already on its way to the market, and Toyota immediately presents three fiercely decorated versions of the crossover to consumers.

The most impressive of that trio is the GR Parts-clad version. These parts developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing make the Yaris Cross optically a true rally cannon. The crossover is equipped with large bright red mud flaps, double exhaust tailpipes, 18-inch light metal and various black attachments that we find on the muzzle and on the flanks.

In-house tuner Modellista has also indulged in the Yaris Cross. The department has developed two variants called Advance Robust Style and Elegant Ice Style. The first, as its name implies, is the roughest looking of the bunch. The Yaris Cross gets as Advance Robust Style an aggressive-looking body kit that consists of sharp corners, edges and folds bumper work. 19-inch alloy is on hand to fill in the wheel arches. The Elegant Ice Style looks less excessive, but nevertheless does not appear modest. On the Dutch order lists for the Yaris Cross you do not have to expect the fierce-looking parts and accessories.
