If for any reason you want to use a different email address for your Apple ID, you can easily change this. iPhone shows how to do that.
Change your Apple ID email address
Whether you no longer have access to your email address or simply have taken a new one; then it is important that you also change the email address of your Apple ID. Because you use your Apple ID to make purchases in the App Store and iCloud is linked to it, it is important that the email address of your Apple account is valid and correct.
Fortunately, it is very easy to adjust this, and you can do this on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC. How to change your Apple ID email address.
- Go to appeid.apple.com in your browser;
- Log in here with your Apple ID details and then tap ‘Account’;
- Your current e-mail address is under the heading Apple ID. Below that, tap on ‘Change Apple ID’;
- Enter your new email address here and press continue.
When you have subsequently confirmed your change in e-mails, your Apple ID has been changed. You may then have to log in again once to services such as iCloud, but this is not always the case.
Customize Apple Mail
If you use an Apple domain email address (such as icloud.com or mac.com) for your Apple ID, you cannot change it. In such a case it is possible to add multiple email addresses as aliases.
To do this, follow the same steps as above, but then go to the ‘Available at’ heading under Account. Here, tap on ‘Add more’ and go through the steps. After this you can log in with both email addresses if you need to use your Apple ID somewhere.
