Try to take a nice photo of your friends or your pet in bad light, and end up with red eyes in the photo. Not nice, but fortunately it is easy to solve. This is how you can edit red eye photos on your iPhone.
Eliminate red eyes in a photo
In poor light, the flash of your iPhone camera is a godsend, but it does not always produce perfect photos. Certainly in such situations there is a chance that the person or animal that you are photographing will have red or brightly glittering eyes afterwards.
A shame for your photos, because this defect can quickly ruin an otherwise great picture. Fortunately, Apple has taken this into account, and red eyes are easy to get rid of on your iPhone. You can edit red-eye photos with the standard editing tools. You do this as follows.

- Open the Photos app and tap the photo you want to edit;
- Tap ‘Edit’;
- Select the crossed out eye icon at the top left;
- Then tap each red eye on the photo you want to get rid of. Make sure you tap the iris and not too much next to the eye, you will get the message ‘No red eyes found’;
- When you’re done selecting red eyes, hit ‘Done’.
Are you not happy with the result after getting rid of the red eyes? Then you can always revert the edit. You do this by tapping ‘Edit’ again. Edited photos have the option ‘Recover’ in red at the bottom right. This will restore the original photo.
