Dark mode in WhatsApp on your Mac
Do you often use WhatsApp on your MacBook? Then from now on you have the option to choose a dark theme for your chats in both WhatsApp Web and the Mac app. WhatsApp has announced four new features, including dark mode for WhatsApp on your Mac. This is how you set the dark mode.
- Open WhatsApp Web (or the Mac app) on your MacBook;
- Click on the three dots to open the menu and choose ‘Settings’;
- Tap on ‘Theme’;
- Choose ‘Dark’.
If you still want a light mode, follow the same steps again and choose ‘Light’ under Theme. Although dark mode for iPhone has been available for some time, WhatsApp Web for your MacBook did not have this option yet. The feature is now rolling out to the desktop version of WhatsApp.
Other New WhatsApp Features
WhatsApp adds animated stickers in addition to dark mode for your MacBook. From now on you can also add contacts by means of a qr code. In addition, you can tap someone in group conversations to zoom in on one person.
WhatsApp is not the first chat app to come with a dark version and animated stickers. For example, Telegram has had these features for years. However, it seems that WhatsApp is now also improving a lot. It was also recently announced that WhatsApp will soon be available on multiple devices. In addition, it has recently become possible to make video calls with a maximum of 8 people.
