Apple has a lot of different services, but unfortunately we cannot use them all in the Netherlands. These services are missing here!
Apple services
In the Netherlands (and Belgium) we often have to wait longer for new services and products from Apple. For example, cycling routes only became available here much later in Apple cards and we are still waiting for the Apple Vision Pro. That is by no means all, because there are still a number of important services not to be used in the Netherlands and Belgium. We put them under each other!

1. Apple Intelligence
At the WWDC 2024 the company Apple Intelligence announced, but the new technology is not (for a long time) not available in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is a big loss, because almost all applications are expanded with Apple Intelligence. The software brings many new functions to your iPhone, iPad and Mac, but cannot yet be used here. Read more about Apple Intelligence here.

2. Apple Card
Users in the United States have more options at Apple Pay, because they can request an Apple Card. This is Apple’s own credit card, which you can use in stores where Apple Pay is also accepted. The card has several advantages, so you will receive part of the purchase amount back if you pay with the Apple Card. The service is not available in the Netherlands and Belgium for the time being, there is little chance that the Apple Card can be used outside the United States in the short term.
3. Apple News
Apple News was already launched in 2019 for the iPhone, iPad and Mac in the United States. At Apple’s own news service you see a collection of publications of different news sites, magazines and magazines. In the Netherlands and Belgium only the Widget of Apple News could be used, but it was removed at the beginning of 2024 without notice. Since then you cannot use Apple News in the Netherlands and Belgium. It does not seem that the Apple service will become available here quickly.

4. Apple Fitness Plus
A few years ago, Apple released its own fitness app. With Apple Fitness Plus it is possible to follow workouts, which you can then watch on your iPad, iPhone and Apple TV. Apple Fitness Plus has since been released in no fewer than 21 countries, including Germany and France. Unfortunately, Apple Fitness Plus has never been officially released in the Netherlands or Belgium, but that may change in the future.

These services are still missing here
In the Netherlands and Belgium we have to miss four major Apple services, but that is not nearly all. There are many more functions that are missing here. Think of reports in the Weer app, public transport in the map app and a Dutch version of Siri on the Apple Watch. The Dutch keyboard on the Apple Watch (Ultra) is also missing for the time being. It remains to be seen whether Apple is planned for these functions for the Netherlands and Belgium.
In any case, it is quite possible that Apple works in the background to provide more services in the Netherlands and Belgium. For example, Tap To Pay has finally been available in the Netherlands for a while and there seems to be a good chance that the Apple Vision Pro will eventually be available here. Apple Intelligence will also be available in Dutch sooner or later, although that will take a while. At Apple News, Apple Fitness Plus and the Apple Card that is a completely different story, because those services probably don’t come to the Netherlands and Belgium.
