Are you waiting for a new MacBook? Then you have to be patient for a little longer. Apple is planning to postpone the release.
Too bad: this Apple product will only come in 2026
According to Mark Gurman van Bloomberg, it seems that the MacBook Pro will no longer come in 2025 with an M5 chip. Apple now seems to opt for a release somewhere in the first half of 2026.
The reason for the delay? It is not known. Mark Gurman adds that Apple can always decide to bring the release to 2025 again. But for the time being it seems that they are going for next year.
We secretly do not expect many changes at the MacBook Pro with M5. Mark Gurman also says that you will not see many major changes, except for a chip upgrade.
Major changes only come to the MacBook Pro M6
For large (er) changes you probably even have to wait a little longer. They probably come to the MacBook Pro with an M6 chip. According to rumors, this MacBook Pro M6 will switch to an OLED screen and will get a renewed design.
If the MacBook Pro M5 launch is actually postponed to the beginning of 2026, the OLED model will move to 2027. Or perhaps very somewhere towards the end of 2026.
More Mac products coming
In addition to the MacBook Pro with M5 chip, there are more Mac products on the planning at Apple. You have to think of a new version of the MacBook Air, among other things. This MacBook will also receive an update in 2026 with the M5 chip to replace the current M4 versions.
In addition, there are rumors that a new external Apple display is coming. This must then become the successor of Apple’s Studio Display. The screen will probably appear around the same period as the Mac models with M5.
It doesn’t stop there, because the iMac and Mac Mini also come with a successor. Nothing is yet known about the Mac Mini 2025 and the iMac 2025, but that they are going to get a faster chip is almost certain.
There are also rumors that Apple will come up with a cheaper version of the MacBook. This MacBook then gets the same chip that is in the iPhone. Nothing is yet known about a price, but it will probably be around 700 euros.
