That is only the beginning, because Apple has many more devices on the schedule in the fall. One of these is the completely new homepad, which must become a combination of the HomePod and the iPad.
The rumors about the Homepad have been going on for years. For a long time it seemed that the completely new product from Apple would be released in 2025, but according to new rumors that is not the case anyway. The usually reliable Apple connoisseur Mark Gurman has indicated that it is almost certain that the Homepad will be in 2026. The delayed release is the result of technical problems, because the speech control is not yet working properly.
Problems with Siri
With the Homepad you can not only listen to music and video calling, the device is also intended to control all your smart devices. Apple wants to make the completely new product the center of your smart home. The homepad is operated mainly via speech assignments, for which Apple works on Siri 2.0. The development of the improved speech assistant takes much longer than Apple had originally planned, so that the company has now chosen to postpone the Homepad.
Siri 2.0 was announced in 2024 at the introduction of Apple Intelligence. The improved version of the speech assistant is smarter and can process more assignments in one go. That is an important part of the Homepad, but Apple has postponed Siri 2.0 several times. It is expected that Siri 2.0 will appear in 2026, only then does Apple release the Homepad.
