Not for the first time

Toyota Gazoo Racing will show a concept car with a lot of street legal elements during the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans. In fact, there is a good chance that it is a Toyota Prius in a racing jacket.
Toyota Gazoo Racing has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for years in a row now. It is therefore not surprising that the Japanese want to make a real party this year, especially since the most legendary 24-hour race in the world celebrates its centenary this year. On and around June 10 and 11, things will go wild at Toyota, which will unveil a concept car in France, among other things.
We don’t get to see much more than the bottom of a front bumper, but that image still tells us something interesting. It seems to be a (very) sporty version of the new Toyota Prius. Just look closely at the way the front bumper bends down the middle, and the crease below. The towing eye covers also have the same shape and position as on the new Prius.
So a fierce Prius. That seems like a wonderful combination, but the new Toyota Prius is also sportier than ever in production form. Because of its appearance, but also because of the system power of 223 hp. Moreover, Toyota has often given the Prius a racing jacket. In the second generation, this was still careful with the heavily stickered Prius GT Concept, but later Priuses were actually sent onto the circuit in Japan. The Super GT class (GT300) produced fierce cars with a recognizable Prius body of generations 3 and 4, although the mid-engine V8 had little to do with the good hybrid powertrain of the original.

Toyota promises that the newcomer will be a concept car full of motorsport-developed technology. In June we will know whether there is indeed a Prius here, or whether Toyota Gazoo Racing takes a completely different tack in Le Mans.
