Toyota GR Supra Sport Top is open Supra!

Toyota has presented an open version of the Supra. The homeless Toyota Supra is called GR Supra Sport Top Concept in full and appears to have been specially developed for the SEMA Show.

In November, Toyota showed the first photos of what should have debuted at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Toyota showed, among other things, a Tacoma with a piece of Tacoma as a trailer, but the brand was secretive about a second project. Toyota presented us with a few fragments of what would be the Toyota GR Supra Sport Top, an openwork Supra that you can now admire in its entirety.

The GR Supra Sport Top Concept is a Supra from which Toyota cut the roof. Whether Toyota actually gives the Supra based on the naturally open BMW Z4 an open brother, remains to be seen. For now, we have to make do with this concept. The GR Supra Sport Top, like the penultimate Supra (A80) and Targa / Aero Top, is not a so-called T-top, although the removable roof consists of two parts.

Toyota has decorated the GR Supra Sport Top Concept in a special way. The car is packed with a body kit consisting of added bumpers and thicker side sills. At the back of the buttocks is a large rear spoiler that is clearly inspired by the cake server of the previous generation Supra. At the bottom of the rear bumper we see a huge diffuser, but the rear lights are even more interesting. These revised light units are a nod to those of the previous Supra. Toyota has strengthened the chassis so as not to cause too much damage to the stiffness from cutting the roof.
