More sporty Toyota news. The brand pulls the curtain on the GRMN Yaris, an extra heavy version of the GR Yaris limited to 500 pieces! Unfortunately, there is a big ‘but’ involved.
Toyota had a sporty version of the previous generation Yaris, including a supercharger equipped version, which listened to the name GRMN Yaris. Of the Yaris generation that you can now find at Toyota dealers, there is a fierce three-door version with a 261 hp and 360 Nm strong 1.6 three-cylinder turbo engine that is called GR Yaris. However, the GRMN Yaris returns, but now as an extra sporty version of the GR Yaris. Earlier we already got wind of the arrival of an extra intense GR Yaris.
Toyota GRMN Yaris
Toyota presents the new GRMN Yaris in Japan, a special GR Yaris limited to 500 pieces, which unfortunately only comes on the market in Toyota’s home country. We immediately had the worst news with that. The GRMN Yaris has the same 272 hp version of the hot 1.6 three-cylinder as the GR Yaris has in Japan, but differs in other areas. For example, it is about 20 kilos lighter than the GR Yaris and the carriage is one centimeter wider. The car is 1 centimeter closer to the asphalt and, like the Performance version of the GR Yaris, has a mechanical limited slip differential. The baking proportions have been adjusted and the braking has also been tightened. All based on feedback from professional drivers, Toyota proudly reports.
The GRMN Yaris will be available with the Circuit Package and the Rally Package. The GRMN Yaris with Circuit Package includes an extra front lip and you can mainly recognize it by the carbon fiber rear spoiler. The GRMN Yaris with Rally Package gets special GR dampers, underbody protection plates and a real roll bar.
Toyota Yaris
Those who order a GRMN Yaris can further personalize the car as part of what Toyota calls its Update Program and Personalization Program. The GRMN Yaris without a Circuit or Rally Package costs the equivalent of €56,100. For the versions with Circuit or Rally Package, the Japanese consumer pays about €65,000 and €64,240 in succession.
Toyota
bZ4X GR Sport Concept
At the same time as this GRMN Yaris, Toyota presents a sporty version of the electric bZ4X: the GR Sport Concept. That study model naturally looks ahead to a GR Sport version of the bZ4X with sporty furnishings as we know such versions from cars such as the Corolla, C-HR and Yaris.
