Toyota unpacks in one fell swoop with a lot of news for several models. The Yaris includes the sportier GR Sport version. The compact Japanese is nicely dressed, but there is more happening.
We can safely call the current generation of the Toyota Yaris the most playful ever. Not only does it look less well-behaved than before, the fierce GR Yaris is nothing short of spectacular. However, with a starting price of over €50,000, this is also a Yaris that is not just for the average Yaris buyer. This Yaris GR Sport jumps in on that, because it brings more modest sportiness to the regular Yaris.
In short, the Toyota Yaris GR Sport is an extra sporty Yaris 1.5 Hybrid with some technical adjustments. To start with, the Yaris GR Sport distinguishes itself in appearance by the new color Dynamic Gray and there is a real diffuser at the bottom of the rear bumper. It is furthermore on special 18-inch light metal with red accents and is equipped with the necessary GR Sport logos all around.

In the interior you will also find those logos in several places, including the perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, but you are also welcomed by sportier seats with red stitching. To make the Yaris GR Sport feel really sporty when driving, Toyota has tightened up the suspension. The dampers and suspension have been modified to give the Yaris sharper steering and less lean in corners. Finally, reinforcements of the chassis provide more rigidity and the electric power steering is adjusted for sportier driving.
It is not yet known what the Toyota Yaris as a GR Sport should cost. The market launch is planned for the second quarter of 2022.
