These are golden times for sporty minded owners of a Tesla Model 3 Performance. The top version of Tesla’s smallest model will not only be available with the aforementioned Track Package, but will also receive software updates to improve the sporting lifestyle.
Although the Track Package, consisting of other wheels, tires and brakes, is still reserved for a small group of enthusiasts, every Model 3 Performance will most likely receive “Track Mode V2”. The update ensures that the already existing Track Mode function, reserved for the Performance version of the Model 3, is substantially expanded. This mode already provides more leeway and a more sporty distribution of the driving forces, but the new version goes a lot further. This allows drivers to adjust the car to their own preferences via all kinds of specific settings. This makes it possible to concentrate the drive on the front or – more logically – on the rear axle. The car also provides insight into the state of cooling and brakes and there is a G-force meter.
Those who regularly visit the circuit with their Model 3 can also look forward to being able to save various settings for specific circuits. Moreover, there is an automatic lap time meter on board and it is possible to record your laps through the cameras that every Model 3 standard carries around. Very handy, for those who want to improve their steering and braking techniques.
The new Track Mode functions are part of an update round that applies to all Model 3s. Less powerful versions also get better and more extensive traffic situations on the screen. Charging points from parties other than Tesla itself will also be displayed on the navigation screen and numerous small improvements have been made to various functions.
