Volkswagen hit a home run at the Detroit auto show in 2017. The electrical ID. Buzz – then still written as ID Buzz – stirred up tongues worldwide. Because that study van looked fantastic retro, like a Volkswagen T1 that has been transported to the 21st century. But alas, the production model of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz doesn’t get that exciting…

With its appearance, the electric MPV / van does indeed hark back to the first Volkswagen Transporter from the fifties, but because of the camouflage that is still on it, you can see that the design has been considerably toned down compared to the study model from four years ago. On the attached spyshots, Volkswagen has the ID. Buzz tried to disguise it with a Renault grille and big fake headlights. Underneath are the pinched copies of the concept car.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz with 111 kWh battery
Volkswagen has confirmed that the ID. Buzz comes in a number of versions, with a maximum battery capacity of 111 kWh. This should allow a WLTP range of up to 550 kilometers. One electric motor on the rear wheels provides the drive, with a power of 204 hp, just like in the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID. 4 is located. A version with two electric motors will also be launched.

Passenger version and van variant
The copy in the photos is the delivery van variant of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, as you can see from the closed sides. By the Volkswagen ID.4 next to it you can see that the ID. Buzz is not particularly large in proportion. The passenger version of the model will have three rows of seats, with probably room for seven people. The ID is reportedly coming. Buzz will also be on the market from 2025 with advanced autonomous technology on board.
