Update for WhatsApp
WhatsApp has rolled out a new software version! The messaging service regularly releases updates that add new features to the application. WhatsApp recently released a major update that brought no fewer than five new features to the app. So now it’s time to update WhatsApp again, because a useful function is coming to all your messages in the application.
It has been clear for some time that Meta, the parent company behind WhatsApp, is working on a translation function for the messaging service. This useful feature had already been announced and appeared on messages in a test version of WhatsApp, but was not yet available to all users. That has now changed, because WhatsApp has added the translation function to the latest version of the application. This means that all your messages have a useful function in WhatsApp.
Translate in WhatsApp
Do you regularly receive messages in another language on WhatsApp? This is no longer a problem in the latest version of the messaging service, because you can easily translate them. The new feature in WhatsApp is available in private chats, group conversations and channels. Have you installed WhatsApp software version 25.28.74? You will then find the translation function in your conversations as follows:
- Open ‘WhatsApp’;
- Go to a private chat, group conversation or channel;
- Go to a text message and press and hold on it;
- Finally, tap ‘Translate’.
The new feature automatically registers the language of messages in WhatsApp. Does WhatsApp not recognize the language or is the wrong language selected? In that case, you can also manually adjust the language from which the text is converted. You may have to download a new language pack in WhatsApp, which will take a few minutes. The translations then automatically appear in the WhatsApp conversation, so you can easily communicate in another language.
New feature now available
Have you downloaded the necessary language packs in WhatsApp? Then you can start translating messages in all your conversations. You don’t have to worry about privacy, because even with the translation function, all WhatsApp messages remain end-to-end encrypted on your iPhone. They are translated locally on your device and therefore do not end up on WhatsApp servers. This way you can be sure that no one can read your messages, including WhatsApp and Apple.
The new feature in WhatsApp supports translating messages into no fewer than 21 languages, including Dutch. This means that you can translate your Dutch messages into another language, or convert chats from a foreign language into Dutch. Don’t see the new feature yet?
