WhatsApp has added a new feature that finally allows you to use the same WhatsApp account on two (or even more) phones. That’s how you do that.
Use WhatsApp on two or more phones
Do you use a different phone for work than for private use? And do you use WhatsApp regularly? Then there is good news, because it will finally be possible to use the same WhatsApp account on two phones at the same time. Now you can log in with your phone number on only one phone. If you then use WhatsApp on another phone, you will be logged out on the other phone.

Previously, it was already possible to use WhatsApp on multiple devices at the same time with WhatsApp Web. You then connect your iPhone to, for example, your Mac with a QR code, so that you can send apps via your laptop. With the new update, you can finally download WhatsApp on multiple phones, without having to scan a QR code each time or being logged out on one of the devices.
New feature also works with QR code
The new update should also make it easier for companies to keep track of the company account on WhatsApp. This account can also be added to multiple phones with the new function. This way more employees can maintain contact with customers. A WhatsApp account can be added to a total of four different phones. Both the sent and the received messages can then be seen on all logged in devices.
Adding a second phone to a WhatsApp account is done by scanning a QR code, as is currently the case with WhatsApp Web. You then scan the code once on the other phone and you can then continue to use the WhatsApp account without logging in again. Only when the device with the original WhatsApp number is inactive for a longer period of time, the other phones are also logged out.
More new features are coming to WhatsApp
The new feature is being released worldwide today, so it won’t be long before you can add a WhatsApp account to multiple phones. The update is not yet available to everyone at once, so you may have to wait a while for the new function. According to WhatsApp, the update will be available to everyone within a few weeks. But maybe you already belong to that first lucky group.
