Do you turn on the flashlight of your iPhone in the easiest way? In these iPhone tips we show 5 ways that are useful to know.
5 iPhone tips to turn on the flashlight
You undoubtedly know how to turn on the flashlight on your iPhone. But did you know that there are no fewer than 5 different ways to do this? There is little chance that you already know them all. We list them for you!
1. Via the button on the access screen
This is probably the best known way. On the access screen (also called lock screen) the flashlight icon (on devices with Face ID) is standard. If you press that icon for a little longer, the flashlight starts. Do you accidentally turn on the flashlight this way too often? Then you can also remove the icon (see tip 2 of these iPhone tips).

2. Via Siri
This is probably the easiest way that hardly anyone thinks about in practice. Just say: “Hey Siri, turn on the flashlight.” Or: “Hey Siri, can you turn on the flashlight?”

3. Via the control panel
This is a popular and also fast option. It works as follows:
- Open the control panel (wipe down from the top right down);
- Tap the flashlight icon to switch on the flashlight;
- Don’t you see the icon? Then tap the plus sign at the top left;
- Then tap down on ‘Add a controller’;
- Choose the flashlight icon.

4. Via the action button
Especially for iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and iPhone 16 users there is the handy action button. You can also use it to turn on your flashlight. That works like this:
- Open the Settings app and tap ‘Action button’;
- Swipe horizontally until you see ‘flashlight’ and tap it;
- Now press the action button to turn on the flashlight.

5. With a double tick on the back
Did you know that your iPhone has a hidden button? It is at the back, pretty much under the Apple logo. Tap it twice or three times to use the set functions. So you can choose to set the flashlight here. You do it like this:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘accessibility’ and then ‘touch’;
- Choose ‘Tap on the back’ and then ‘double tap’;
- Select ‘Zaklamp’.
Of course you can also use ‘three times’.
