ViaPlay is going to compensate customers for bad streams (but also you?)

After all the problems ViaPlay is now going to compensate its customers. The streaming service has told the Consumers’ Association that. Viaplay said that it should be clear that the company caused the problems.

After all problems: money back at ViaPlay

To be eligible for compensation, you must first prove that the service is not working properly. In addition, you must also demonstrate that your equipment and your internet connection meet the requirements.

The Consumers’ Association therefore advises victims to record with a photo or video that the streaming service is causing problems. To test your internet speed you can visit the website of SpeedTest to use.

ViaPlay overview

Consumers’ association: ViaPlay must compensate customers

If there are problems and ViaPlay cannot solve this, you as a customer are entitled to compensation. How ViaPlay will compensate their customers is not yet entirely clear, but this could consist of a (temporary) price reduction. Customers can also choose to cancel the subscription and get a refund.

Report bad streams to ViaPlay

ViaPlay calls on customers with problems via social media to immediately pass on the complaints to customer service. The company has opened a special telephone number for this.

ViaPlay regularly in the news due to problems

ViaPlay is regularly in the news because of the bad streams. The consumer program Kassa also paid attention to all complaints in the episode of Monday 30 May. The broadcast can be viewed online via the Kassa’s website† In the episode, the Consumers’ Association already said that ViaPlay is obliged to compensate customers because of the poor quality of the streams.
