Vivo V23 (Pro) official: the chameleons among smartphones

The Chinese Vivo has announced chameleon-like new mid-range smartphones with the Vivo V23 and V23 Pro. Both devices mainly focus on photography and design. The devices include ‘Fluorite AG technology’, but what exactly is this?

Vivo V23 loves sunbathing

Vivo reports that it has been working on a technique for years to make the back of a smartphone change color. The company does this with the so-called ‘Fluorite AG technology’. A technique that causes the back of the phone to change in direct sunlight. Vivo demonstrates this technique for the first time in the Sunshine Gold model from the Vivo23 series.

If you expose the gold-colored Vivo23 (Pro) to sunlight, it will turn blue-green after about thirty seconds. After a while, however, the phone will return to its original gold color.
