Vodafone has launched a new service, the Vodafone battery warranty, with which customers will receive a new battery for free for three years if the battery capacity of their device falls below 80 percent. The offer applies exclusively to the purchase of a smartphone via Vodafone or Ziggo from 8 September 2022. As soon as the capacity is below this percentage within three years of purchase, the device is eligible for replacement of the battery without additional costs.
The procedure is deliberately easily prepared to offer users a trouble -free experience. Customers take their device to a Vodafone or Ziggo store, after which it is checked and sent for repair if necessary. The customer is kept informed of the status via e-mail, up to the delivery of the device with a new battery at home.
It is intended that customers first check their battery capacity themselves via the settings of their device or with the help of apps such as batteryattery (for Android). If it is too low, then a backup must be made of the phone and possibly take a temporary device to the store so that there is accessibility during the repair.
Vodafone emphasizes that this guarantee not only contributes to customer satisfaction, but also to sustainability. By replacing batteries instead of throwing away entire devices, the life of telephones is considerably extended.
The warranty only applies to new telephones with original batteries, purchased after 8 September 2022. Refurbished devices are explicitly falling outside, as well as damage cases that have nothing to do with battery performance. The Vodafone battery warranty exists in addition to the legal warranty on the device, but does not replace it.
