The first new Golf that can be ordered
The Volkswagen Golf has been around for 50 years this year and Volkswagen cannot let this go unnoticed. At the beginning of this year it introduced the updated version of the Golf VIII and it is now introducing a festive Edition 50 version of that facelifted model. It also comes to the Netherlands.
When the Volkswagen Golf turned 40, the brand introduced a special Edition 40 of the then current model and now that the Golf has just blown out 50 candles on its birthday cake, an Edition 50 version cannot be missed.
The Volkswagen Golf Edition 50 is based on the Style version of the Golf, the currently highest positioned available version. The Edition 50 adds 18-inch ‘Leeds’ alloy wheels, tinted rear side windows and an illuminated LED strip in the grille to the standard equipment of that variant. Speaking of illuminated parts: the Volkswagen logo in the front is also illuminated. Volkswagen prints a ’50’ badge on the B-pillars.
Volkswagen is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Golf in the Golf Edition 50. Of course this includes Edition 50 logos. You will find them on the door sills and on the steering wheel. Volkswagen clicks stainless steel covers around the pedals and the headliner is in black. The Discover infotainment system with navigation, Keyless Start, Keyless Access and Volkswagen’s digital assistant, together with things such as an alarm system, are also part of the Edition 50 party.
The Volkswagen Golf Edition 50 is also coming to the Netherlands, only in combination with the 204 hp eHybrid plug-in hybrid powertrain. This is also the very first version of the facelifted Volkswagen Golf that you can order in the Netherlands. Prices will follow in March.
