Volkswagen Golf now also as 1.0 eTSI with DSG automatic transmission

Volkswagen has once again added an engine version to the range of the Golf. The Volkwagen Golf is now also available with the basic engine and a DSG automatic transmission. The 1.0 eTSI offers a Mild Hybrid system as a bonus.

The biggest advantage of the new version, however, is undoubtedly that a Golf with automatic transmission becomes a lot more accessible. Previously, Golf buyers were dependent on the 150 hp 1.5 eTSI, which is a lot more expensive than a manual 1.0 with at least € 36,937. With the arrival of the 1.0 eTSI, the step to the DSG becomes a lot smaller.

The 1.0 eTSI is only available as Life and Life Business. Basic version ‘Golf’ thus passes the nose of this version, just like the most expensive trim levels. The Life is available from € 31,430. For comparison: a manual 1.0 costs € 28,725 in this version. A Golf Life has, among other things, light metal, a digital instrumentation, climate control and adaptive cruise control.

One step higher up the ladder is the Life Business. It costs € 33,690 and offers the more expensive, nicer version of the LED headlights, navigation and a better driver’s seat, plus a few trifles.

As with the 1.5, the arrival of a DSG in the Golf means that there is a Mild Hybrid assistant on board. Partly because of this, consumption is slightly lower than with the manual 1.0, with 5.2 instead of 5.3 liters per 100 km. The CO2 emissions are now 118 instead of 121 grams. Both versions of the 1.0 are exactly as fast: the top is at 202 km / h, the sprint from 0 to 100 is over in 10.2 seconds.
