Volkswagen announces the show debut of the ID.5 GTX. The SUV coupe is part of the electric model family and comes with four-wheel drive.

The German brand Volkswagen has unveiled the SUV coupe Taigo less than a week ago or it is already announcing the next one. Unlike the former, it is now an electric model. The ID.5 GTX SUV coupe therefore has more in common with the other ID family members than with the compact Taigo, especially when it comes to the flowing lines of the exterior.

But what will set the ID.5 apart is its performance. Volkswagen puts two electric motors in this crossover, one on the front axle and one on the rear axle, with which it can be four-wheel drive. The model is therefore allowed to wear the addition ‘GTX’, which stands for extra sportiness within the ID family. Incidentally, the achievements have not yet been released. The electric car has a maximum (WLTP) range of 497 km.

The Volkswagen ID.5 GTX will make its debut at the IAA auto show, which will be held partly in Munich during the first half of September and partly on the Internet virtually. Volkswagen has already released photos of a camouflaged, production-ready ID.5. We see short overhangs and large wheels. The brand promises that the SUV coupe will be ‘fully connected’ [is, hij] can receive updates over-the-air and is equipped with Car2X technology’. The model will be at dealers from next year.
