Glitzy Buzz
This year, Volkswagen introduces us to the Volkswagen ID Buzz GTX, a sporty variant of the ID Buzz. That car will have a 340 hp electric powertrain.
A while ago we reported that Volkswagen wants to make a sportier GTX variant of every ID product, including the ID Buzz. A journalist from the British Autocar spoke about this to the head of Volkswagen’s development department, Kai Gruenitz. He indicated that the ID Buzz GTX will have an output of 340 hp, which is more than the ID4 and ID5 GTX currently have. They do it with 299 hp. Volkswagen will introduce the ID Buzz GTX this year, but probably only after the ID3 GTX has been unveiled.
That car comes simultaneously with the facelift of the ID3 and also gets the 340 hp powertrain with two electric motors and four-wheel drive on board. So don’t be surprised if the ID4 and ID5 GTX also get that motorization not much later. Later this year there will also be an ID Buzz with a longer wheelbase and an (optional) multi-seat configuration. Volkswagen is aiming for 2025 for the camper version called California.
