Volkswagen celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Polo GTI in May this year with a special edition of the current model. There are also a handful of them coming to the Netherlands and now it is known what you have lost to celebrate that GTI party.
The Volkswagen Polo GTI is in the order books in the Netherlands from €42,690 and is therefore more than one and a half times as expensive as the cheapest Polo on the price list. You will of course pay even more for the special Volkswagen Polo GTI Edition 25 in the Netherlands. The party Polo, which is available in a limited edition in the Netherlands and is therefore quite rare, has a price of €49,390. Initially, 20 units would come to the Netherlands. There are now 25 of them.
Just like the regular Polo GTI, the Volkswagen Polo GTI Edition 25 has a 207 hp and 320 Nm strong 2.0 TSI as the power plant. Although the Edition 25 – and the Polo GTI in a general sense – is more than 1.5 times as expensive as a 95 hp basic Polo, it does treat you to more than twice as much horsepower fun. The GTI Edition 25 can be found in the Netherlands from October and of course offers some extras compared to the regular Polo GTI.
In fact, quite a few things that are optional with the regular Polo GTI are standard on the GTI Edition 25. Volkswagen calls an extensive audio system from Beats, an electrically operated large sliding / tilting roof, the Discover Pro system with 23.4 cm large display, the Digital Cockpit Pro instrument panel with 26 cm large screen, heated front seats, Travel Assist and LED matrix lighting. From the outside you can recognize the Polo GTI Edition 25 by its 18-inch black wheels, Edition 25 stickers on the sides and by the black roof and side mirror caps in the same color. In the interior you will find sports seats with black-red leather upholstery and door sills with ‘One of 2,500’ on them. There are 2,500 units on the market worldwide. The party nose is available in all colors in which the regular Polo GTI is also available, although you can also opt for the exclusive Ascot Gray shade of grey.
