‘Newer’ is almost impossible

The Volvo 340 will have been a dream car for only a few people, but in 2022 we can imagine that it makes the heart beat a little faster for some (even if it is for nostalgic reasons). The 340 was a bit ‘our’ Volvo. Originated from a prototype of Daf and built in Born in Limburg. Although the 300 series was somewhat reviled in its early years, it was not the most inspiring, smooth or fine-driving car of its time, but later on, some hobby arose for it. That it is one with an automatic transmission strengthens that suspicion. The first owner had it until 2002 and probably in those twelve years most of the kilometers have passed under its wheels. Since then, the 340 has only been owned by car companies, the classic has probably been stored somewhere for twenty years. Last summer, however, it was decided that it was time to take the 340 out on the street again and a sales sign was hung on it. You can almost speak of a kind of barn find.
Standing still for that long is usually not really conducive to a car, but the 340 has a brand new MOT and is, according to the provider, in very good condition. In any case, he seems to be in good shape. It can’t hurt to check what has been recently put into maintenance, because after such a long siesta, the Volvo must have been thoroughly checked. If everything is in order, you have a possibly as good as new 340 at your door for about €4,000. A very basic one, by the way, he doesn’t even have a radio. Installing one is advisable, because especially with CVT, the sound in about 340 will quickly disappoint you.
