Two new brands have offered their help in fighting the corona virus. Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover operate independently, but offer exactly the same help for local physicians.
Both the Swedish brand and the British manufacturer make 3D-printed visors that doctors and nurses can use as a protective head mask. The pandemic is the chance that all global caregivers will run out of supplies. Several manufacturers have already stepped in, such as Seat and Ford, but now Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover are also taking advantage of the extra time they have due to the cessation of car production.
Jaguar Land Rover says it can “print” 1,300 masks every week. This is done in collaboration with the British NHS: the publicly funded health care system in England. Volvo says it can supply around 1,000 parts for masks every week. These are intended for emergency workers in the southern Swedish Västra Götaland region.
