Volvo XC40 thousands of euros and XC60 even €10,000 cheaper

Until recently, the starting price of the Volvo XC60 was €69,695. For that money you step into the XC60 T6 in Core version. The XC60 T6 Essential Edition is now temporarily below that and it has a price tag of €59,995.

The Volvo XC60 T6 Essential Edition has the well-known plug-in hybrid powertrain with a system power of 350 hp and an electric range of 78 kilometers. Although the design name and the starting price suggest that you get an extremely bare XC60, that is not the case. The Volvo XC60 T6 Essential Edition has a glass panoramic roof, stands on 18-inch alloy wheels, has Park Assist at the rear and comes with an extensive infotainment system with Google software and Google Maps.

The Essential Edition is purely for the XC60 T6. The Volvo XC60 is also available as a more powerful T8 and costs at least €76,695 with that powertrain.

The XC40 also benefits from the arrival of the Essential Edition. This is only available in combination with the 163 hp mild-hybrid B3 powertrain. The Volvo XC40 B3 Essential Edition costs €45,995. Previously, the XC40 B3 was already available as an Essential – without ‘Edition’ – and was on the order books from €50,995.

More XC40 news: Volvo expands the delivery range with a second mild-hybrid powertrain. It is called B4 and has a 197 hp and 300 Nm strong powertrain. Both the B3 and the B4 have a blown 2.0 four-cylinder with up to 12 hp and 30 Nm of electrical support. With the B4 you can also tow up to 2,000 kilos instead of 1,600 kilos. The Volvo XC40 B4 is available as a Core from €49,995 and as a Plus (with Dark optics) from €52,995 in the order books.
