Watchos 26 Release: On this date, your Apple Watch can update
For the owners of an Apple Watch, September will really be a fun month. Because then the release of Watchos 26 is the new operating system for your Apple Watch. Apple recently announced the date of the next keynote (where the iPhone 17 series is almost certainly presented). That keynote falls on Tuesday 9 September at 7 p.m.
This means that the corresponding software becomes available to everyone a week later. In previous years that was always the Monday after the keynote. If we extend that to this year, the release of Watchos 26 for the Apple Watch is on September 15.
This will change on your Apple Watch with Watchos 26
With Watchos 26, the Apple Watch gets a big makeover. For the first time in years, Apple has the design of the operating system in a new look. The biggest eye -catcher is ‘Liquid Glass’. This gives all kinds of parts a transparent, glassy appearance. This design not only appears on the Apple Watch, but also on iPhone, iPad, Mac (book) and Apple TV.
In addition, Apple is introducing a completely new way to operate your Apple Watch with an extra wrist gesture. Do you get a notification and do you want to wipe it away? Then you will only have to turn your wrist to close the notification. Ideal when you are cycling or have your hands full.
Unfortunately, not all Apple Watches have support for the latest functions.
