Wayne Griffiths is Seat’s new CEO

Seat finally officially has a new CEO. Nine months after Luca de Meo’s departure, Wayne Griffiths takes over the Spanish helm. That is not an unknown name within the group.

At the beginning of this year, CEO Luca de Meo exchanged Seat for Renault. There he is busy making huge cutbacks. While the former Seat CEO does that, the Spanish brand is a bit motionless. Since then, Vice President of Finance Carsten Isensee has assumed the duties of CEO, but he mainly retained his own activities.

However, as of October 1, the cards have been shuffled differently, when Wayne Griffiths will start as the new CEO of Seat. With that name there may be some bells ringing. Not surprising, because Griffiths has been working for the brand since 2016. Griffiths currently serves as CEO of the Cupra brand and at Seat as Executive Vice-President Sales and Marketing. The CEO does not have to give up the task as CEO at Cupra, because he will combine those activities with his new task as head at Seat. Until a replacement is identified, he remains responsible as Head of Sales and Marketing of the VW subsidiary. As of October 1, Carsten Isensee can fully focus on his own activities as Vice President Finance and IT.
