Emoji lovers pay attention, because new emoticons have been announced. Unicode Consortium, the creators of the Emojis, have released a beta for Unicode 16 containing new emoji. This way we already know which emoticons we can expect later this year.

The current range of emoji is already large, so the update has been limited to seven brand new emoji that you will soon be able to send and use, including an emoticon with bags under the eyes, fingerprint, tree without leaves, harp, shovel and more. This means that the iPhone SE will make the switch to an ‘edge-to-edge’ screen, possibly Face ID and a larger display. However, there are doubts, we should not expect an iPhone SE in 2023 and even 2024.
