Wegenwacht purchases Volkswagen’s ID Buzz

Expansion of electric vehicle fleet

Wegenwacht purchases Volkswagen’s ID Buzz

The ANWB Wegenwacht will be on the road with the Volkswagen ID Buzz in the near future. The order follows an earlier order for electric Volkswagens: last year, roadside assistance already purchased ID4s.

The ANWB Wegenwacht has been driving the Volkswagen Transporter for many years, but that model is joined by a more modern family member. The ANWB is ordering 30 copies of the Volkswagen ID Buzz this year. Logically, this concerns the Cargo version of the ID Buzz, because the Wegenwachters do not have much use for a passenger bus. We will know exactly what the Volkswagen ID Buzz looks like on Monday. Then the ANWB shows the first ID Buzz converted into a roadside assistance car.

You can be sure that the ID Buzz will have a print similar to the Volkswagen ID4 that Roadside Assistance received last year. The ID4 was converted to carry tools in the back instead of passengers. The fact that the ANWB is adding more electric cars to its fleet is in line with the ambition it has for Roadside Assistance. By 2030, the organization wants its fleet to be fully ‘sustainable’ and Roadside Assistance also wants to be prepared for emission-free zones in inner cities.
