Wey Cybertank: exuberant with a dose of Mercedes-Benz

This is the Cybertank, a very exuberant SUV from the Chinese manufacturer Wey. The Cyber Tank seems to have ridden away from a science fiction film, but is mainly less original on the inside than its appearance suggests.

Wey is a so-called premium brand that the Chinese car manufacturer Great Wall carries. Almost a year ago, Wey presented the Tank 300, an angular SUV that, with its retro look, is somewhat in the line of Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco and Mercedes-Benz G-class. The Tank 300 has been lifted in a very exuberant jacket especially for the Shanghai Motor Show. The fiercely decorated SUV is called Cybertank.

The Cybertank looks like a Tank 300 that has been taken care of by a tuner like Mansory, but it is really a creation from our own house. It has thick bumpers, with Y-shaped LED lighting that is made up of several segments. Wey optically knots the headlights, which on the standard version are split by a horizontal LED strip together by also fitting the grille with an LED strip. The Cybertank has an enormous air scoop on the hood, extra attached wheel arches and is overloaded with yellow-green details.

The interior has also been addressed. The Wey Tank 300 naturally already had an interior whose design looked very similar to Mercedes-Benz and the interior of the Cybertank is quite reminiscent of that with its white color scheme. Whether it will actually hit the market in China remains to be seen. The regular Tank is available with a 225 hp 2-liter and a 190 hp diesel engine. In any case, the colossus is not coming to Europe. Should we regret that?
