What are emoji reactions in WhatsApp?
Soon everyone will be able to use them, the emoji reactions in WhatsApp. You may already know them from Messenger, Telegram, or iMessage. Thanks to these emoji reactions, you no longer have to type a new message, because you can simply reply to a message with an emoji. According to WhatsApp, this way people can quickly share their opinions without flooding chats with new messages.
For now, it looks like you can respond with six different emoji. You can place a thumbs up, a heart, a smiling face with tear eyes, a surprised face, a face with a tear and a high five. Once you select a message, the emoji will appear as options below it.
WhatsApp Status also gets emoji reactions
These handy emoji reactions are also coming to WhatsApp Status. That discovered WABetaInfo† For the people who don’t know WhatsApp Status yet, this is a function in WhatsApp that allows you to post photos and videos, optionally with text, stickers and emoji. These status updates will disappear after 24 hours.
WhatsApp Status launched in 2017 and will soon be getting emoji responses too. There are eight in total and you can see them in the screenshot below. Once you respond to a Status message with an emoji, it will be shared as an emoji message with the recipient in an instant message.
Since WhatsApp is still working on this feature, there is no information about the release date. So we don’t know when it will be available to beta testers, and eventually to everyone. WhatsApp is working on even more new features for its chat app. You can soon expect the Communities, share larger files and make voice calls with more people.
