Will Citroën also get a new logo?

Peugeot will soon have a new logo, which we saw on a concept car earlier. That makes you think. Is sister brand Citroën following the same path and have we already seen the ‘new’ double chevrons?

A ‘new’ logo adorned the steering wheel of the recently spotted new Peugeot 308. The word ‘new’ is in quotation marks, as it is a logo that we previously saw on the E-Legend Concept and that in turn was a retro variant of a much older Peugeot logo. We saw sister brand Citroën do something similar on the also recent 19_19 Concept. In honor of the brand’s 100th anniversary, an old emblem was dusted off and given a more modern look.

The logo in question on the 19_19 Concept

That makes you think. In the context of a ‘new brand identity’ and ‘better applicability to digital channels’, many brands have recently refreshed their logo. Volkswagen, BMW and Nissan, among others, opted for a simpler ‘2D’ version of their existing logo. Peugeot too, although that clearly goes on the retro tour. A brand like Citroën fits such a history-winking approach perfectly well. It would therefore not surprise us if this logo appears on a new Citroën soon. Techzle is awaiting a response from Citroën.
